Mr. Mark Friesen Teacher Page

Hello and welcome to my Introductory Teacher Page. I am looking forward to a fantastic semester of learning and working together with your children.  Much of our everyday learning is done in either a workbook or students are asked to take notes, depending on the specific course. See the breakdown below for what I am teaching this year and the materials I will be using.  In regards to assessment, students are often most successful mathematically when they are able to write, create, and test. Thus all assessments are done on paper.

**Note: In the top left hand corner of your screen you see a Navigation Bar. Under this, you will see links to all my course outlines.**

Semester 1:

• Math 20-3 : Student Workbook can be purchased from the office (optional)
• Math 30-1 : Pre-Calc 12 (can be borrowed from the office)
• Sports Performance : All assignments on Moodle (see link below)

Semester 2:

• Phys Ed 9
• Phys Ed 9 Enrichment :  An additional option class for grade 9 students to have extra physical education time
• Math 31 : All notes will be given in class (notes package)
• Math 10 : Foundations & Pre-Calculus 10 textbook (can be borrowed from the office)

If students wish to seek further help outside of class, this is great! I am more than available before or after school any day. I do ask that students contact me in person or via email to let me know if they would like to set up a meeting. They can contact me at mafriesen@rvschools.ab.ca.

Parent Tips

I encourage parents/guardians to be actively involved in your child's school life.  I believe when parents and teachers work together, children can be successful in their learning.

• Please visit powerschool bi-weekly so that you are up to date with your child’s assignments, class schedule/timelines, attendance, and marks.
• Please visit your son or daughters Moodle course platform and/or notebook so that you are up to date with your child’s learning.  You will have to use their login information to access this information.
